The Old Cranleighan Masterplan

The Future of Sport in Thames Ditton

We’re excited to share our proposed improvements for the Old Cranleighan Club to better serve our members and the local community in future years. Your feedback and support are vital to help make this a reality.

Founded in 1928, the OC Club has been a cornerstone of our community in Thames Ditton for nearly a century. A real community club that has a diverse membership base welcoming those aged 5 up to 75+ to our facilities providing sports programmes promoting fitness, health and wellbeing while working alongside schools’ community initiatives.

The Proposal

We are submitting a planning application to:

  1. Install a new all-weather hockey pitch.
  2. Install a new 4G all-weather football and rugby pitch.
  3. Install a new indoor 6 court padel centre.
  4. IImprove the grass pitches on the Weston Green end of the site, with improved drainage for Rugby and Football
  5. Improve accessibility for all users.
  6. Enhance parking and green spaces.

These changes will allow us to expand participation and better support youth and grassroots sport.

FAQ

Why is this development necessary?

Our facilities are outdated and limit the opportunities we can offer to the community, meaning we do not have enough facilities to accomadate the existing membership base for both hockey and rugby.

Will there be environmental impact?

We have worked with Ecological consultants to minimise the impact on existing green space and have a number of initiatives that will improve the biodiversity of the site as it is developed.

How will local residents be affected?

We anticipate positive impact through improved public access and carefully managed upgrades.

How can I support the application?
